Training Program Development

Under Part 46 MSHA requires companies who work at mines develop and implement a written training plan that includes the following training programs:

  • New Miners
  • Newly Hired Experienced Miners
  • New Tasks
  • Annual Refresher
  • Site-Specific Hazard Awareness

MSHA is very specific on the training plan requirements.  If you are unaware of these requirements you may be exposing your company to costly mistakes. Trinity Safety Group has developed a training plan that is approved by MSHA. Trinity Safety Group offers two types of services in our Training Plan Development Services. We can review and revise an existing program or develop a new training program. The review and revision process is just that, a review and revision of a company's existing training plan. Trinity Safety Group will thoroughly review the training plan and identify areas within the program that can be improved or modified to meet specific MSHA requirements.

Trinity Safety Group has established a five-step process in the development and implementation of a new training plan. The development relies on involved interaction between Trinity Safety Group and the client's management team.

The five-step approach to training plan development is as follows:

  • Trinity Safety Group will conduct an assessment of the client's current activities. The initial assessment is necessary to establish an understanding of what operations a company performs and how they conduct these operations. The initial assessment involves site visits to become familiar with the mine, review of the operations, and interviews with the management team.

  • Using all information gathered in the initial assessment, Trinity Safety group and the client's management team will establish necessary policies and procedures that will be included the training plan.

  • The development of training plan will be completed once the necessary policies and procedures have been established. Trinity Safety Group will write a training program that is specific to each client's requirements.

  • Once the writing of the training plan is completed, Trinity Safety Group and the management team will meet to review and make any revisions to the programs content. Trinity Safety Group will provide the management team with an explanation of all requirements and expectations that are included in the training plan.

  • The implementation for the new training plan is the final step of the process. Trinity Safety Group will assist the client in the planning process and has the capabilities and expertise to conduct the training specified in the training plan.
